SDOY.CA – STOP DUMPING ON YARKER
Welcome to SDOY.CA, a community-driven initiative dedicated to restoring the peaceful and healthy neighbourhood of Yarker
that existed before the Waste Transfer Station was imposed on it”
. Our current ad hoc committee includes;

Jeff Whan
Jeff is a long-time resident of Stone Mills. He appreciates our community and the people who live here. He is very active in the citizens group successfully opposing the Richmond Landfill expansion which was proposed to bring Toronto’s garbage to Napanee. Jeff combines his experience as a successful businessman with recently acquired knowledge of the municipal legal framework and Ontario’s Environmental regulations to find solutions in the interest of all of us.

Cathy Martin
Cathy had been an early childhood educator/daycare teacher since she graduated from St. Lawrence College in 1989. Unfortunately due to medical issues Cathy is no longer able to work in that field. She moved to Yarker with her children in 1992, and found it a wonderful place to live until the Township allowed the Waste Transfer Station to be built adjacent to her residence.
Cathy has been overwhelmed by what she perceives as a lack of transparency and accountability on behalf of Stone Mills Township. She has observed first hand the negative impacts resulting from the operation.
Having started the ball rolling by documenting and researching the issues with respect to the Waste Transfer Station, Cathy has been happy to see the community support building around her.

Bill Priestman
Retired healthcare worker, passionate of our people, equality, diversity, and environment.
Resident of Yarker since 1990. Initial impression of our trails and the quiet, clean area prompted the move here.
Bill enjoys connecting with other residents who share the same philosophy of a peaceful and tranquil community.

Rob Renaud
Spent his career working at Queen’s University in the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering.
While at Queen’s as a union activist, he spent a number of terms as President of CUPE Local 254.
As a resident of Yarker for close to forty years with his wife Lynn they raised their family in Yarker, and have set down deep roots in the community.
Having been brought up in small rural communities in South Western Ontario Robert truly values our pristine rural environment and is deeply disappointed in our Township.
Stop Dumping on Yarker – Take Action Now!
Join us in our mission to protect the environment and promote community activism.
Together, we can make a difference and create a cleaner, healthier Yarker.
